Daily analysis, October 10 – our first two-player Final of the season

October 10, 2013

Sometimes a player will make my wagering analysis really straightforward. Today was one of those days.Cover 20131010

With a negative score, Kate won’t be around for Final Jeopardy!. It’s a two-horse race with Jason and William, the latter holding a slight advantage.

William: 11,800
Jason: 10,400
Kate: -2,200

Although the wagering process is 1-2-3, I add an extension of Rule #3: If safe, that player also covers an “unsafe” wager by the other.

In mathematical terms, this will only happen for the trailer when he has more than 4/5 of the leader’s score. The trailer can then safely cover an unsafe Rule #3 wager by the leader.

The Final Jeopardy! clue for October 10, 2013:
